It can happen at a concert, an amusement park, or the mall. You walk back to the parking lot after a great day and then — bam — panic sets in as you look out over a sea of vehicles, realizing you have totally forgotten where yours is located.

If this happens to you a lot, Google's newly updated Search app for Android can be your saving grace. Instead of wandering around aimlessly, just fire up the app and a new Google Now card will show the approximate location of your vehicle.

Google has updated its support pages with instructions on how to use the new feature. Note that you'll only see the parking location cards if driving is your main mode of transportation in Google Now.
"When the card shows up in Google Now, you'll see an indicator showing the approximate location of your car," Google wrote. "To see other locations where you've recently parked, touch Previous locations. Your location data for parking location cards isn't shared with anyone else."

The Web giant warned that the new feature isn't always perfect, and you may see a parking location card even if you didn't park your car. Google said it uses your device's sensors to know when you leave a moving vehicle, so a card might show up after you exit a bus or a friend's vehicle, for instance.

Android Police first noticed the automatic parking detection feature after examining Google's latest update for the Android Search app, released Wednesday. It could take days before Google pushes the feature to your device, but you can download the APK from Android Police if you're eager to check it out right away.
