One of the more interesting features of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is the fingerprint scanner – which much like Apple is also in the home button. So today, we are showing you how to set up the fingerprint reader for the Galaxy S5 and use it to unlock your device. Which it’s actually quite easy to do.

To set up the Galaxy S5′s fingerprint scanner, jump into settings. Next tap on the Finger scanner, then you’re going to tap on the Fingerprint manager and add a new fingerprint to the device. From there it’ll ask you to create an alternative password in case the fingerprint doesn’t work for you. You can also set it as the security on your Galaxy S5, or as your password for Google Wallet or PayPal. However, if you’re on Verizon, it won’t work for PayPal as Verizon has disabled that for some reason. The fingerprint scanner basically works as it should, however, you have to use two hands to unlock your device. Which is kind of unfortunate. Maybe we’ll see that change in the future, but who knows.

We’ve got a video down below showing you exactly how to do it if you’re interested. As it would be easier to do a video than a bunch of screenshots. Don’t worry, we’ve got lots more Galaxy S5 content coming up in the next couple of weeks, including our full review. So make sure you stay tuned. A few weeks ago, it was all about the HTC One (M8), now it’s the Samsung Galaxy S5′s turn!
