Dromag - Install the leaked Android 4.3 build on your S4 right now

Earlier today Android 4.3, that's right -- the un-released upcoming version of Android -- leaked for the Galaxy S4 Google Edition. It should could as no surprise that ROMs are already surfacing and are installable for your very own Samsung Galaxy S4.

For those in the dark here, the version that leaked is for the I9505 model powered by the Snapdragon 600 chipset and normally runs on a stock Android 4.2 Jelly Bean ROM. It's the one that is available in Google Play right now.

The ROMS are available for the regular I9505 Galaxy S4, the TouchWiz variant. You can now install the leaked Google Play Edition's test Android 4.3 ROM on your device. We haven't tried it just yet, but reports have said it is very, very stable.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Google's upcoming mobile OS, is expected to launch this July. From the looks of it, the software is almost idenitical to Android 4.2 with a few new refinements. Honestly, I'm still shocked it leaked.

To install Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on your Galaxy S4 I9505, follow the directions below. Please remember that your device must be rooted and you must have a custom recovery installable such as ClockworkMod.

  1. Download this file here or this here. Both links are for the Android 4.3 S4 custom ROM.
  2. Copy the custom ROM to your GalaxyS4 internal SD card.
  3. Enter recovery.
  4. Complete a factory reset.
  5. Flash the Android 4.3 ROM.
  6. Reboot your device!
  7. That's it! You have successfully installed Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on your Samsung Galaxy S4.
  8. Samsung has been absolutely killing it these past few years and the S4 Google Play Edition is no exception. It also rocks that an Android 4.3 ROM is already available.
Anyway, if the S4 is a phone you're interested in, checked out our review in the link above. In it, we said:

"The Samsung Galaxy S4 is a great smartphone. Its build quality is good, the screen is excellent and the camera is better than most smartphone cameras, too. Battery life is great, Samsung’s added dozens of new features and its Samsung Hub are all very excellent additions to the device. Will this be a ridiculously popular and another best-selling device from Samsung? You bet.The one thing I can’t get over is the feeling that the phone is lacking something. It’s lacking soul. That’s not a knock against the phone -- I’ve already admitted that it’s a great device that is going to flood the streets much like the Galaxy S3 did. It just didn’t leave me feeling the way the HTC One did, for example. Perhaps there is something about the methodical approach to the Galaxy S4 that gives off that feeling. Or maybe it’s the strong similarities between the new and the old devices, which in itself isn’t a bad thing. Or I can just chalk it up to being picky and having strange, intangible expectations. I should just get over it and take the Galaxy S4 for what it is: a damn good smartphone that you probably won’t regret buying."
